Circuit Training app Sneak Peek…

What is circuit training?

Circuit training is a workout consisting of several different exercises lasting approximately 30 seconds each. The idea is to target the total body, including arms, legs and core muscle groups with short bursts of intense movement. Circuit training combines both aerobic and core building exercises into one workout session. This combination of strength and aerobic exercise jump-starts the metabolism, promotes cardiovascular endurance, and helps tone muscles.

What are the benefits of circuit training?

Cardiovascular conditioning helps lower blood pressure, improves good cholesterol (HDL) and reduces the risk of heart disease.

Strength training focuses on increasing total body strength, improves posture, and increases bone density which helps lower the risk of osteoporosis.

What happens when you combine both cardiovascular conditioning and strength training into one routine?

1. An elevated heart rate throughout the workout, which has been shown to yield more calorie burning potential than traditional strength training programs.

2. Increased weight loss

3. Total body toning

Some would argue, that the best thing about circuit training is that you can do it in your own home. It doesn’t require much space, equipment, time, or money.

When you combine a circuit training workout with your running program, you will see improvement in overall endurance and stamina.

As some of you already know, we are working on our new Circuit Training Fitness App.

We knew we wanted to make an app that would improve our endurance, stamina, and ultimately our running performance.  After much research into strength and cardiovascular training we decided to make the a Circuit Training Fitness App.

Here is a sneak peek of what’s to come!

These screen shots were the initial prototypes for the workout screen and the add/edit workout screen. The second screen shot shows how you will be able to select and edit your personalized workout.

This is the Workout Screen where you will be able to select your workout.

Exercise icons shown here will guide you throughout your workout. You will also be able to see a full description of each exercise.

As you can see, we have made progress and can’t wait to launch our app!

Let us know what you think.  We’d love to hear your opinion.

Any update on the launch for circuit training app?

    • Hi Suzanne,

The circuit training app will be available soon. We are working on fixing bugs. We hope to have it available before New Years! Thanks for your continued interest in our circuit training app, it won’t be long now.

  3. I’m pretty stoked on this app! I downloaded c25k app this weekend and did it yesterday. It’s sooo nice to zone out to my music and have my phone tell me when to run. I’m using Nike+GPS so when I’m in there, the c25k still goes which is nice. The push notifications are awesome. But I’m def going to look forward to the circuit training one to get me going more.

    • Breana,

Thanks for your comments. I agree that the music really gets me going as well. We are making great strides in our Circuit Trainer app and can’t wait for its release.

  4. A circuit training app is a great idea! Many of my friends are having success with your C25K app. I’m getting my iPhone on Monday and it will be one of the first apps loaded!

    • Casey,

Thanks for leaving a comment. I am so happy that you will be joining your friends in running. We are excited about our Circuit Trainer app as well. It is coming together nicely.

  5. Would like to see something like the video display on authentic Yoga with Chopra. Reason is that it is too easy to damage yourself doing things like lunges etc incorrectly.
Whilst it is easy to have ‘run now’ in the c25K app , I think you need to have a lot more in a circuit training app.

    • Ashley,

Thanks for your comment and this is a great suggestion. The current Circuit Trainer app will have descriptions of how each workout should be performed. We will look into making video displays for possible further updates.
